Café cats

Every one of our cafe cats were once abandoned, unloved and scrawny (yes, very malnourished!). We adopted all of them, none were bought from breeders or pet shops. At this cafe, we hope these cats will get all the love and attention they had missed out on and in return, customers get to bring home wonderful memories of a purring, contented cat.

Kai Kai 

(brother of Jia Jia)

Name: Kai Kai (brother of Jia Jia)
Age & gender: 1 year old, male
Type: Spotted ginger tabby with deep yellow eyes

Kai Kai is real attention seeker and purrs like a cooing pigeon when stroked! He is also the quintessential greedy cat so watch your food when he is around.
Brother and sister were rescued from a flooded canal in pouring rain along Bukit Timah Rd when they were barely 3 months old. They were found around the same time the pandas arrived in Singapore from China, which explains their names.

 

Jia Jia

Age & gender: 1 year old, female
Type: Tortieshell tabby with yellow eyes

How can you resist that half ginger and half tortie face? Jia Jia is curious, adventurous and likes to dash around in frenzy. Don’t be alarmed when she bites – Jia Jia shows her affection by nibbling your toes and fingers.

Emma

Name: Emma
Age & gender: 1 year old, female
Type: Pure white with blue eyes

Her striking blue eyes are simply gorgeous. Emma is a rare find – only 15% of all white cats with blue eyes are not deaf. She’s a sweet darling who makes friends easily and loves grooming other cats.

Brown Monkey

Name: Brown Monkey

Age & gender: 2 years old, male
Type: Siamese-cross with turquoise eyes

Brown Monkey loves head butts and chin rubs. Don’t be surprised when he belly flops for you! He was named for his dexterity in climbing and the monkey-like squeaks he makes when he wants something.

Robbie

Name: Robbie
Age & gender: 1 year old, male
Type: Classic tabby with yellow-green eyes

Robbie was found in a rubbish dump in Pasir Ris and was a very skittish 2-month old kitten. He has since blossomed to be a confident and handsome young cat. He likes to play with other cats’ tail (due, perhaps, to having none of his own).

Skittles

Type: Brown tabby with yellow eyes

Skittles is awfully smart – she can open cages and figure out puzzles quickly. She is also highly athletic and so very approachable. All the right qualities for a purrfect girl, wouldn’t you say?

 

Mr White 
(brother of Dewey)

Name: Mr White (brother of Dewey)
Age & gender: 1 year old, male
Type: Black with yellow eyes

Mr White’s dearest companion is his brother Dewey, whom he will seek out for a mini wrestling match or just for warmth to snuggle up against.

Mr White can be very affectionate in a cheeky way. We will leave you to discover what that means!

 

Dewey

Name: Dewey (brother of Mr White)
Age & gender: 1 year old, male
Type: Beige tabby with blue-green eyes

Dewey absolutely loves string toys and won’t stop the chase even when he is panting. His predatory instincts are strong but he can also transform into a mushy, needy, belly-flopping sweetheart.

The two brothers were found abandoned as kittens in a box under a tree with big red ants crawling all over them. They were rescued and lovingly handfed for a second chance in life.

 

 Little Miss Muffet 
(sister of Baloo)

Name: Little Miss Muffet (sister of Baloo)
Age & gender: 5 years old, female
Type: Maine Coon & Ragdoll cross. Black & white with yellow-green eyes

Little Miss Muffet and brother Baloo were the products of two pedigrees that were not sold as kittens and were banished to the back of a pet shop. There they sat in neglect, with only cockroaches as companions.

Although already an adult, Muffet still likes to play with a string toy when not watching the world go by.

 

 
Baloo

Name: Baloo (brother of Muffet)

Age & gender: 5 years old, male
Type: Maine Coon & Ragdoll cross. Black & white with yellow-green eyes

Baloo is the largest and heaviest of the cafe cats at 7.5kg. This gentle giant lumbers around like a mammoth with his shaggy fur and greets his fellow felines with a head butt or a body rub. Like Muffet – Baloo has a playful side as well – a string toy will get this clumsy bear of a cat up and about!

  


Luna

Age & gender: 2 years old, female
Type: Tortoiseshell with yellow eyes

Luna was picked up from a coffeeshop in the Ubi industrial area where she was found eating chicken rice, drinking coke and covered in oily soot. Rescued from all that, she is now an athletic, ever inquisitive cat with a real need for human company.

 

 

Miley

Name: Miley
Age & gender: 4 years old, female
Type: Chinchilla Persian cross. Lillac with yellow eyes

Miley was initially very fearful of a raised human hand and we suspect that she may have been hurt in the past. It might take awhile for her to warm up to you but a gentle massage between her shoulders will put her at ease immediately. Watch for her cute way of running – bushy tail in the air and back feet flying up!

 

Demi

Name: Demi
Age & gender: 4 years old, female
Type: American Shorthair cross. Silver classic tabby with yellow eyes

Demi has a plush, silvery coat with a pair of angel wings. Don’t be fooled by her fierce face and gravelly voice, she is a sweetie who just wants chin and belly rubs. From a bony cat in the shelter, Demi has put on quite a bit of weight and even has a jellybelly!
